Engedi -- filled with caves & wadis (dried ravine beds), where
King David hid from Saul.

Engedi, an oasis on the west coast of Dead Sea.

Masada, site of the Jews' last stand against the Romans after the
fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD.

Storage bins for grain on Masada. Notice the Dead Sea in the
background.

Temple Mount in Jerusalem

Remains of the sloping ramp, the Romans built in two years to take
the fortress. Almost 1000 Jews committed suicide rather than be
enslaved. |

Dome of the Mosque of Omar in rear. Looks like dad got real
surprised by a bunch of folks coming over the top of the steps.

David at the Temple Mount

Gazebo on the Temple Mount where the Holy of Holies was believed to
be.
