I'm looking out at the Dead Sea from the mouth of one of the Qumran
caves.
|

Qumran cave region. Home of one of the richest archaeological
discoveries of all time.
|

David climbing down the side of a hill at the Qumran caves. Danger.
Danger. |

David at the mouth of one of the Qumran caves. Notice the Qumran
center in the background. |
|

One of the many cave sin the Qumran region. Were some of the scrolls
discovered in this cave? We're not sure, but it could very well be
one of the 13 caves where the Scrolls were discovered.
|

David at the mouth of one of the Qumran caves. Notice the Dead Sea
in the background. We had hiked the area for 3-4 hours and were very
hot and tired by now. It is at this site where I explained the
significance of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. One of my
fondest memories of the entire trip, and a lifetime...

The actual floors of the Judgment Hall where Jesus encountered one
of the trials. Approximately 10-12 feet below street level.
|

This was a game board etched in the rooks on the floor of the room
where Jesus was held before the crucifixion. Roman soldiers used
dice to determine who would be "Emperor" for part of the
day. The winner could then tell any other soldier to do any
cruel act on the prisoners that he wanted -- slapping, spitting,
pulling beard, mocking, etc.
